How do I become a member?

Acts 2:42 says, “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls“. Here we see one of the first largest membership services at the church of Jerusalem. God was doing great things in and through the church. We see in verse forty seven, later on in that chapter, that God continued His work of addition when it states, “Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved“.

So as we see God’s plan for the Christian is to be a part of a local church, how do you then become a member of Ansbach Baptist Church? There are three main ways to acquire church membership:

Through Baptism:

As we read a moment ago,the early church added its members through the baptismal waters. We at ABC believe that baptism by immersion is the picture of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. As a Christian, when someone decides to get baptized, they are deciding to identify with Christ through baptism. Here at ABC we do not believe that baptism cleanses away sin or provides eternal life, it is merely to identify with Christ. We see in the verse stated above that they already believed, then were baptized, providing means for church membership.

Through Testimony:

Biblically, membership is only for those who have received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. When Acts 2:42 says, “Then they that gladly received his word…” signifies a saved membership. Anyone on the Pastoral staff may listen to your testimony of belief to insure salvation.

Through Transfer:

You may have had another church home prior to ABC and thats ok! Transferring from one church to another does in fact happen, especially in a military church like ours. We practice “like faith” transfers. Meaning, those who hold to the doctrines and beliefs of our church are welcome to membership transfer.
